Kathleen Murphy brings 2 decades of on-camera and Executive Producing experience for national networks to her work with executives, entrepreneurs, authors, athletes and CEO’s.
She has interviewed and hosted for ESPN, USA Network, ABC Television, Oxygen Network, Lifetime Television, The Football Network, Madison Square Garden Network, Fox Sports, Discovery Network, Outdoor Life Network, Versus, The Weather Channel, WBIS, Wall Street Journal Television, LIFE ALL IN and piloted several network television shows (CNN, CNBC, ABC News, others) and radio programs (Sirius, SiriusXM).
She brings an extensive 360-degree media experience from all sides of the camera and appearances to a broad range of media and communications services; and extensive experience in the c-suite managing strategic partnerships, business development and serving in chief of staff roles.
Murphy Media Partners has worked with athletes, CEOs, writers, small business owners and more for media appearances, interviews, presentations, strategic partnerships and investment opportunities. Clients have included David Rockefeller Jr., Senator Larry Pressler, the international media project “Africa 10” with will.i.am and the Black Eyed Peas, Dow Jones and the Wall Street Journal for a series of 12 interviews with international athletes, A.S. Monaco Football Club, Glasgow Music LLC, USA Network, ESPN, Wunderman, FoodFuture Co., Open Future Institute, Friends of Verdi Square, Facebook, Google as well as large commercial clients and small business owners scaling their enterprises and media presence.
Specializing in live, unscripted environments, Kathleen co-hosted Live with Regis Philbin, hosted her own daily 3-hour live show on USA Network, was the book reviewer/contributor for ABC’s Good Morning America, conducted live interviews and features for the Tour de France and the US Open tennis championships, anchored for college and Canadian football and was the only media consultant for the A.S. Monaco football club in Monte Carlo. Her co-hosting with Regis Philbin garnered her the New York Post’s vote to replace Kathie Lee Gifford.
An accomplished writer and editor, she was Managing Editor of British American Publishing with Simon & Schuster where she created several works for hire (her own original ideas), discovered bestselling author Harlan Coben – publishing his first two books – and published hardcover editions of George Plimpton’s The Paris Review authors. She acquired and published a National Book Award Nominee and Penn Faulkner Nominee – one of the best 5 works of fiction of the year.
Kathleen’s career has taken her all over the world – she traveled daily with the Tour de France race through the French countryside creating – reporting daily features and conducting cyclist interviews; lived in the canopy of the rain forest of Costa Rica; explored witchcraft and politics in Cuba; tracked the mountain gorillas in Uganda; fly-fished the rivers of Montana, adopted a dog sledding team and lived on a boat in Alaska king salmon waters.
Kathleen Murphy is an Amherst College graduate and holds a graduate degree from Harvard University, Radcliffe College. A two-time New York City Marathon finisher, she has read to the blind as a volunteer for 14 years, is the first female President of the West 73rd Tenants Association Board of Directors and serves on several boards.
